help with shopping list......
I have some preventative mantenance to do this year on the 928GT. was looking for some input on cost of parts, where to get the parts, and how indepth should some of the work be done.
1. Clutch- I heard the the Dual Disc has a painfull break in period. So i will replace with the single disc. Should I look into a new flywheel?
2.TB/WP
3. Plugs and wires
4. fuel lines
5. Possible top end refresh
6. powdercoat the intake and valve covers

GT has the single disc clutch unless its been upgraded to the dual disc.
Any of the normal 928 vendors should be able to set you up with a kit of parts, www.928intl.com or www.928srus.com .
What some find convenient is to buy or borrow a spare intake and have it powder coated and ready to replace the old one with, which is then passed on or sold to the next person.

If you're just looking for ballpark TB/WP, I bought mine 2 years ago from Roger, WP was new Laso, radiator hoses, PK tensioner, new accessory belts, etc., etc, and it was ~$1K.
New Beru plug wires when Roger had them on sale were $300 and NGK BP6ET plugs were $32
Fuel line kit was $120
I like 928 Specialist website for the top end refresh - it's like a "kit" that you can add/subtract what you need and then get the final price. Also a good sanity check to make sure you're not forgetting anything.

I need things done too, I plan on picking them up in the states at us address.
I'm going to be doing 3, 5 & 6
this summer. # 2 cost me 900 in parts from Roger with a porkensioner and new WP, and # 4 was 100 with Roger's kit.
928 Specialist are great too, quick shipping. I just got my new hood liner from them and it looks great. FYI if you do this job I have an extra can of the 3m glue if you need it.

I always balance my money around, project to project, to keep our suppliers in business.
Don't forget 928 specialists!
Powdercoat might be best done locally if there's a 928 or magnesium-alloy experienced shop around.
