Default dim dash lights

Sunny and 50 degrees in NJ today, so decided to take the car to work. Took the opportunity to have the emissions inspection done at lunchtime and it passed. Yay!

On the way home (in the dark) I noticed the gauge lights started out mighty dim. Then, when I got to rev the engine once out of the parking lot, they got brighter. Lower engine speed, they got dimmer. Headlights were affected, but not to the same degree as the instrument lights.

Does this seem indicative of a ground issue meaning I should do the ground cleaning/check advocated in other messages in the forum?

Leftmost gauge light is out, high beam indicator is also out. All other interior lights OK. Guess I'll have to get brave at some point to replace some dash bulbs...

If you haven't cleaned all the grounds, start there. It may clean up issues you did even know wewre occurring.
