Default Quick noob question!

Hi,

Sorry, but what is the part and what fuction it as that is attached to the crossbar?
And why some cars donīt have it?

It is a solinoid valve that lets in a little more idle air when the AC is running. Without it there is about 100rpm drop with the AC on.

Thanks for the explanation Karl
So I assume that all model years have the valve but some placed somewhere else.

Only the older CIS system cars have it - like yours.

more like all pre LH cars including 80-84 USA. Those with no idle stabilizer and computer controlled idle speed.
