Default 79 5 spd 26k miles

No affiliation, just posted in my area...

I took a look - euro car, no sunroof, the guy has owned for 18 years, just lost job with Kodak bankruptcy, A/C not working, drives well, miles look correct but has cosmetic needs...

cool looking enzo, and I don't trust the miles based on the description of the interior in the other thread.

There is barely any wear on the interior, but parts of the carpet that should be brown are tan....

if there is carpet discoloration then its either from liquid damage or sunlight

Sorry, I must have read about a different car then.
If a ppi checks out, I think it is a very good price for a 25K mile car. I am not a fan of the color, but that's just a personal taste thing.

Default uncharted territory..

Funny to look at old posts. This one happens to be about my car. I've owned it now for exactly a year. have done TB/WP/intake refresh/injector seals/plugs/wires, etc/changed all fluids.

Have to fix the weeping on both cam covers now this spring, once that's done, i am going to try to get a paint job. I am completely clueless on this. Are there any seals/stripping, etc that i should replace for sure? most of my seals are in good shape, door seals seem fine from what i've seen, but when this thing goes to the shop i'd really like to have seals, etc in hand to avoid too many delays for the guys. I figure new front/rear beading for sure.
I'd love to do cobalt/iris, something similar. i have front leather cashmere/champagne seats (need Bob Budd to take a look at a little snipped sample for me) and will be installing matching carpet set. this will brighten up the dark brown interior everyone in the original posts loved so much! I think this beige would go well with the new blue color(?) i'll be leaving the dark brown vinyl pieces in the car, they're all in very good shape, and i think it'll look nice having a contrast.

So- my few questions/comments:

-Looking to delete the rear wiper, was thinking of using plugs, or filling, not sure which way to go
-would love to delete the "truck stop" lights (JADZ). is it safe to do without issues a year or two from now on this showing up again/sinking, etc? what is the best practice?
- would like to do the same with the headlight washers, wondered how this is done on such a flexible plastic?
-Any things anyone knows that should be done at this time, i'd love to hear it.

BTW- the car is basically what everyone here assumed. His stories seemed true, mileage is actually accurate. the odo at first only registered about 1/2 miles or so, after idrove it a couple times, it worked 90% of the time, it shows 24k or so right now, i'd say even if it were 28-30k, still a great low miles car. I actually have the cluster apart now replacing the gear. from the work done this year, i'd say the mileage is very accurate, the mounts look great, many things we replaced were original, interior is in very good shape (sun fade on carpet), body is great, paint is hideous color, but man is it in great shape other than the plastic (very rough/faded).

I apologize for the ridiculous long post, was just pretty cool seeing this old thread about my car, knowing all i've done on it this past year.

Cool Matt - thanks for bringing this back up! Please post pics - as it is now, and as it progresses - we love that stuff!
As to rear wiper delete, a few have done it, and tastefully so. Do a search for Andrew Olson's (AO) procedure on his S4.
Long live 78's!
