Hey been a while since I been on here, good to post again.
I just had my cats removed and X installed and all I have to say is WOW!
If you have this you already know, but if not it runs a ton better and sounds like it should. I get compliments all the time now on how good it sounds.![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
Oh, b.t.w. this is a little off topic but how can I get "rennville drunk: off my name? I gave that stuff up. Thanks.

X is good, nice throaty sound and more torque.
Removing cats makes the exhaust stink, fouls the air, and has little to no gain vs a modern high flow cat.

Hey Mike, good to see you back.
I did this mod myself this past summer. Even with the early 87 S4 larger resonators it is loud. I love the sound and have been told by numerous people that the car sounds "mean"........ in a good way.
Now if only I could get rid of the 2500 RPM "drone" on the highway.
Since it sounds like you have the car back up and running, you need to join up with the Columbia Porsche Club this spring for some spirited group drives. As far as I am concerned this is one of the best parts of Porsche ownership.

Uuuuummmmmm...................whatever buddy. I'm not thinking that this car is going to be confused with the sound of a Camaro anytime soon. At higher RPMs the sound is sublime.

Yeah the 928 exhaust note is distinct... i can tell a 928 engine over a pushrod V8 any day. What's wrong with it sounding like a muscle car? Sorry i don't want to have to take a boxer engine out of my car everytime i want to perform a light tune up just so i can have a "Porschey" sounding car. In fact i love how the 928 has a V8 because it confuses the hell out of all of my buddies when i tell them about the car or they hear it. They're like, "man did you put a Chev 350 in there??" or "is that a Mustang 5.0 in there!?".

So far so good! Sounds great and the extra HP is very noticeable.
