Default a few projects off the to do list...

Since my car is on stands due to a power steering pressure line leak, i decided it would be a good time to do a few other projects.
  • replaced the alternator breather tube.. the old one was torn up at the alternator and soaked with power steering fluid from my leak
  • cleaned the wheel wells and checked the susension on both sides
  • cleaned the abs sensors
  • changed front break pads
  • replaced the front passenger side wheel bearings and seal
  • cleaned grime/oil from the engine bay..

I have some questions about these projects...

questions:
when i replace the breather tube, can i check the temp sensor that goes inside the tube? i am assuming that i can multimeter it and heat it?

does the seal on the power steering fluid res. seal liquid tight? there is fluid all over it. the fluid was dripping on the alternator cooling fins, so the residue may have come from slinging off the fins....

I pick up the new pressure hose tomorrow and will be putting it all back together.

Is there anything i should check "while i am doing this and have it this far apart?

Check all of the hoses to the reservoir. They tend to creep under clamp pressure.

Depending on the vintage of the reservoir you may want to replace it, I think it is generally considered a maintenance item.
