Darn it James, I'm starting to get really jealous of you. Your wife must be a saint. I've had to start selling vehicles in order to buy others (unless I starting buying really expensive jewelry)

Congratulations!!

I like to buy jewelry too...so she gets hers and I get mine... That said, please don't tell her about this purchase! She does not know! LOL! I am SOOOO BAD! Searching for a place to store it for a bit.

Yeah, that may be my next tactic. Lately I've been searching for cheap warehouse space. LOL as well.

Congratulations, James! For the money, I thought it was a lot of car. I started thinking the other day when heinrich said a GTS crank was $2,500. That alone is 12% of this vehicle's total cost. I look forward to seeing it with a scantily dressed woman laying on it in next year's calendar

So who currently has the most 928's that isn't a Sultan, or dealer?

Way to go James.

Congradulations!
A new one in your garage. Some day, you will run out of place!
And after you will get her in a great shape - like you do with all your cars -
and have Paul Champagne put his magician hands on the interior, you will have a very nice '95 GTS for still a very good price.

Thanks guys I am very excited about this. The folks I had look at it (thanks Ather and Darin) gave the confidence in this car to add it to the collection!

Darin is such a good friend that he is going to repeat his summer 1999 trip and drive this thing down to me! What a great friend! Darin used to own RKD in OKC's Iris blue GTS!

Can't wait to get it here, clean it up a bit more (but it is really clean already) and pose a few hotties with it!

Then it will be time to start the transformation to the TRIBUTE car that it will become! I have been thinking about this for many years... Since THE LAST has pretty much disappeared I am going to do a tribute to that car. It is not going to be a re-creation of that car, but a tribute to it.

Since THE LAST was a custom paint to sample and every picture I have makes it look like a different color the plan is to use as close a factory color to it as I can find. Unless you guys have another color you think is closer I plan on going with the Cayman R color called Peridot. In pics it is a dead ringer!

I hope to enlist some of the local gang to help take this thing apart and do a little sanding and clean up and trim removal and prep so that a paint shop need only do a touch of prep work and paint the thing...then we will put it back together!

Now I see.
That's a major transformation we have here!

Good luck and post as many pics as you can while you will transform this already great car into a very unique one!

Man, you got such a collection of great cars!

Congratulations James! You know now you're going to have to eventually get a '93 GTS... then you'll have the most complete GTS collection in the world (including the not for USA '92 you already have!).

I'm not envious... no really, I'm not... "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's GTS's"

Rick, it is already on the list...has been for years! In fact I mentioned Darin who is going to drive the GTS down here to me and I actually blame him for this! About 8 years ago we were talking about collecting 928's and I was talking about getting one of each year but how many cars that would be and how hard it would be to keep track of them and take care of all of them and then he said, yea, I just want one of each of the GTS's... DOH! So, you see, it is really Darin's fault! You may have seen some of my posts too that I have been looking for black/black '95 and/or black/anything '93 for some time... BTW, the '93 won't stay black either!

So, here are shots of THE LAST as well as a Peridot Cayman R...see how close these colors are?!

Oh, if you want to know what color the '93 will be look at that shot of the Cayman R and look to the far left of the pic...see the tail end of that 911 Speedster...there you go! (well pretty close to that anyway, I am going to do a wrap on it vs a paint job, so we will see how close they can get a wrap to that color!)

James, I completely understand how that works, my buddy Deano got me started into 928's (he's had 2), but he's really into F cars, so who knows where I'll end up

BTW, from your pictures, that Cayman color looks spot on for a match with the
last GTS.

Well, if you're going to double down on any one year...'95 isn't too bad of a choice.
Congrats on the new addition, James. Looks like it'll be a fun project...interesting choice of color, btw.
