Window tint removal - possible?
The rear windows on my 928 are tinted smoke. I am not certain if this is stock or not but the rear (hatch) tint has come off in one spot and is generally blurry. If stock can it be removed? If not can it be removed? Heat gun and patience kind of thing?
I'm assuming new glass would cost more than I'd like to spend.

I have done it. Don't heat it from the inside. Heat window from outside with a heat gun. Don't get close to the paint. The glass should get hot to the touch, then you can start peeling away the tint with the adhesive sticking to the tint film and not the window. It just makes it easier to clean up when done this way.

The adhesives generally come free with a liberal dose of moisture with a little ammonia. There are also some commercial tint-remover products IIRC.
Safest option may be to call your favorite tinting outfit, and make a deal with them to replace what's there all in one shot, with something you like.

Go to WalMart buy a steamer, check out the videos on YouTube on how to remove window tint, remove tint with steamer, take steamer back for refund.

We actually have a steamer. It sits behind the washer and dryer collecting dust and I think the cat plays with it. Great to know it may come to use!

Fantastic. I see you're in New Orleans, so at least two of us own 928's in South Louisiana. I'm in Baton Rouge, I work in New Orleans a good bit.
I'll try this out in a month or so when it is unseasonably warm. Oh, wait...it IS unseasonably warm.

Please stop by and visit me at Porsche of New Orleans, We currently have a 928 on the showroom floor. I can also suggest a tint shop to do the work at a professional level, that also does cars for our dealership.
