Clutch pedal stuck ?
Hello everyone! I went to drive my 1979 928 4.5 manual transmission Porsche today, I pushed down on the clutch pedal and it didn't come back and it didn't engage the gears. I can turn off the engine and then it will shift, but I need to flip the pedal up with my foot and it will stay in place at the top until pushed and it will rest at the firewall? When I last drove it the car it was running fine no clutch slipping no problem shifting, but first gear would not engage unless stopped, car was like this when I got it (don't know if that was factory?). I have the shop manuals and checked the clutch power spring 42mm was good. I want to check with the Rennlist members before I work on the car and make any costly mistakes! You have been of great value in the past and make enjoyable to own this German work of art.

That happened to me once. IIRC, there was a little C-clip on the pedal that fell off . Something like that. It was like a 3 minute fix when I got down there.

You have air in it. Bleed the system with a power bleeder. If the problem persists you will need to find out where the air is getting into the system.

Blue hose or pivot ball is my bet, but that circlip is probably high probability, too.
Pivot ball is easy to see, it's right on top when you pull the airbox off.
Blue hose damage should result in a puddle and low fluid in the brake/clutch reservour.
