Diff cover and speedo sender MY differences

I have an 86.5 with 5 speed. I read this and it prompted me to look at my diff cover since I have an LSD, but its NOT one of my option codes (I checked that too). Sure enough, the drain is located at the bottom of the cover - also has a small 85 stamped on it... Soooo I'm thinking the PO must've changed the stock diff to an LSD... or they ordered it... or Porsche threw it in there and said "Merry Christmas"... I dont know, but at least it makes sense now.

Sometimes when you find the previous owner "molested" (commonly used term on here) something on the car it turns out to be a GOOD thing

Digging up an old thread...

So my 85 euro g28/10 transmission was an open diff and the PO put an LSD in it and the speedo quit working. The current differential plate (older style with drain plug) is off alignment by 1cm. What options do I have since it sounds like the 86 plate is not backwards compatible, if i read that right...
