Hi, How about front shocks from Bilstein?
I have been chasing a pair for a year now. Nobody in Europe have been able to deliver or even get any dates on when Bilstein will get to work on their backlog.

Anybody that have any suggestions for where to look for front Bilstein shocks?
Otherwise there will soon be a set of rear Bilstein shocks for sale when I am forced to go for Konis...

If you have Bils on there now, see about laying the car up for a little while and send them in to be rebuilt. It is cost effective, and I've heard great results...though it is still on my to-do list...

They are self adjusting, pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee:

FWIW: I paid about 120 Euros per shock for checking the valve characteristics, oil/gas refill, new piston rods (had minimal markings) and bottom rubber bushings. Now I should be good to go for another 10 years.

I had the Bilsteins once: not impressed. Just too spongy. Externally adjustable is the way to go.

Update:

Our friend Roger @ 928sRus saved me by having the front Bilsteins in stock.
And my new hypercoil springs are currently clearing Swedish customs so I can pick it up this comming week.

Next weekend seems to be perfect for swapping suspension.

Fronts have always been available. I have the first batch of 20 rears arriving next week. As soon as I get the invoice I will calculate the price for you.
Fronts are $255 each.

I;ll ask here as well...

What difference would be noticed between these and Koni reds in the rear?

I have reds currently.

Roger,
I presume the rears now available are standard. Did you get anywhere with the adjustable (sport /comfort) shocks as per your initial post?

Koni reds seem a bit odd....some are GREAT and others are HORRIBLE....the set that was on my Widow were nearly worthless...bounce all over the place....but other cars with stock springs and Konis are pretty nice...just like bilsteins on stock springs..... I think the older Koni's were better...say pre 2008 the new ones seem too soft......

I might be selling my bilsteins with heim joints? If I buy new Penskes

I've had Koni red's on my '89 for a year and a half - they're internally adjustable only for bump, not rebound, but they certainly go firmer than is comfortable on the street. I recently turned mine "down" to be more pliant.

For track purposes I can't comment as I haven't taken them to the track yet - if I had only one 928 I'd probably have more spare time

As for comparison with Bilsteins - I haven't fitted the bilsteins I have to my '87 yet - it might happen as part of the MMOPG job thats looming, just so I can be done with my to-do list for that car and enjoy driving it.
