Some background:
Came out of an '89S4 and is only a few years old. There is no gap, none, between the impeller and the housing. Loosk like the shaft started to migrate off the impeller too and coolant was leaking from the pilot hole.
Previous mechanic bent the shoulder bolt and the brace only had two bolts (one by the roller, allan head and the out most 6mm) the middle 6mm hole didn't line up. Had one heck of a time pulling the tensioner arm and there were couple small hammer marks on the tensioner arm, near the pivot bolt. I'm guessing it was hammered on. The belt was loose, 2mm before the kempf tool window and the impeller is cast iron. Is this a Chineese WP?

Laso, before their "first" update to make the impeller fit tighter.
The Laso in Rob's picture is the "first" update. Never have seen the impeller move on one of these pumps.

Laso as already said but difficult to tell if it was a virgin Laso or a rebuild.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

This what I think happened. The bent pivot bolt pushed the timing belt off centre and just enouhht tp slightly rub the outside lip of the WP pulley. Over time, thete was enough pressure that the pjlleu and bearing cartrage started migraging out (towards the radiator) from the WP housing. It the reachex a point where the coolant started leaking out of the pilot hole. A month or so later, the leak became a constant steam and this is where we we are today. The timing belt looks ok but there was a slight build up of rubber on the inner part of the pulley. On ths lip thats closest to the radiator.
