Do you have a green 1979?

If so I'd appreciate a picture posted here or emailed to me - brad /at/ artigue.com - I can't find a paint code on my car, the door jamb one is long gone and there is none in the rear. I applied for authenticity papers via Porsche but have not received a word yet. I have to get rolling on ordering paint for this baby pretty soon and though I know it used to be green I don't know which one. Fairly certain the little of the original green I can see is metallic but isn't dark.

There were 3 green colors offered in 79: (Standard): Olive Green. (Special): Light green Metallic, & Oak Green Metallic. 77Tony

More than likely your car is the Light Green Metallic. It was VERY common in '78/'79 and one of my fav 928 colors! You can probably do a search for "Kermit" and find several pics of one of the finest 928's in the world and likely the color your car should be.

I looked at the landsharkoz site and the pictures of the green cars from 79 are not good enough to match, wrong angles or light, one of their greens looks blue, and so on. I received a few pics in email and was at least able to eliminate the oak metallic. Olive green looks wrong too, so I think my next step I'll find an unmolested patch of paint and photograph it and stick it up here. It certainly has some metallic and is light, and that seems to narrow it down...

Have you gone to the 928 Registry?
There are some examples there.

Here is your light green metallic

Here is your olive green metallic

Oak Green Metallic is almost black. Really a dark color.
Do a search for Erik N on this list, his is Oak Green I believe.

Chuck, it's not that dark. You just think it is, because the last time you saw it was at nighttime!

Chuck, remember we just sat there revving the engines in neutral at 1 AM? Everyone was looking at us like, "yeah, they're not getting my keys!"
