Porken's "Bumpstick" tool

I've been using Ken's 32vr tool for 2-3 years to set/check the adjustment of the camshafts on my '89 and '94 cars. It has always been a bit difficult to get the 1-4 bank adjusted properly, and frequently after spinning the engine, I found it was not set where I thought it was.
Yesterday, I used the 32vr along with the new tool Ken has developed to compliment it - known as the "Bumpstick" tool. These two combined made the adjustment of both banks a real piece of cake. It has never been so easy to move the cams to exactly where I wanted them. So, after adjusting the belt tension (slight), and setting both banks of cams (modest changes again), I removed the 32v4 needle gauge, pulled the fuel pump relay, then spun the engine 10-15 times with the starter. Made about a 15 degree crank turn with the crank bolt to achieve the TDC, and VOILA - all three adjustments were exactly as I'd set them. This additional tool is a real time saver and improvement in the accuracy of setting your cam timing.
Thanks Ken for making the cam adjustment such a simple procedure that even I can do it accurately!

"After adjusting the belt tension” are you still using the factory tensioners?
I have one of his "Bump Tools"
I have done about 15k miles since December 2010 the date of my last TBW and Porken tensioner install.
It will of interest to see what I'll find the next time I'll check cam timing, gears and T-belt

Herman,
I'm still using the OE tensioner on the '89. I will put the Porkensioner on the '94 when I do a timing belt replacement on it later this winter.
I'll be interested in what you find when you do a checkup.
Gary-
PS: Ken, your comment about "old term for camshaft" reminded me of a bumper sticker above the grill at a "Bubba's" hamburger shop in Hanalei, Kauai. It reads "Vegetarian, old Indian word for lousy hunter".

Hey Gary. Any chance you'd be willing to help me out when I'm done with my engine pull.
Getting everything to TDC has me a little nervous. Sure could use the Jedi Masters help

In Yorkshire we would say "it is **** easy with a Porken Bumpstick".
Just have to be a bit careful they do not think your talking about the latest sex toy.
Mind you it is worth getting excited about.

Btw. I didn't need the socket to turn 5-8 cam counter clockwise. With the bolt tight the bump stick alone is enough to turn the cam without the bolt loosening.

Oops. I had forgotten to upload the updated 'production' manual - (PKBumpStick.pdf)
