I was at my engine shop yesterday and they gave me a copy of "Engine Builder" mag. They know I liked Porsche's and the cover story was about Carl Faucett's 900 HP 928 engine. Dec. 2011 issue if anyone wants to read the article.

None now, let them all lapse and don't plan on renewing any.

Car Craft! Who's with me? Super cheap and a good attitude.

Some of the best car books I've read:
I'll skip making a list of generic car books or this is going to be a really long post![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
- Cannonball - Documents the first decade of the real Cannonball Run (with 928 content)
- The Last Open Road - the first part in an excellent series by B.S. Levy telling the story of a country boy in the 50's discovering sports cars and working his way up the ranks at the birth of the sports car scene. Puts a fictional character in real historic events. You cannot go to a vintage car event without seeing "The Last Open Road" stickers on the back of some very high end vintage cars.
- The Unfair Advantage - by Mark Donohue
- Cobra In The Barn
- A French Kiss With Death - about the filming of LeMans
- The Racing Life Of Paul Newman
- Andretti

I'm a bad example---
I subscribe to: C&D (which is a shadow of its former--DED Jr led--self), R&T (Peter Egan FTW), MT Classic and Automobile
I pick up the following each month at Barnes & Noble: Top Gear, EVO, Collectable Automobile and Car (British car mags are cheaper to get at B&N than subscribing directly)
I sometimes pick up the following at Barnes & Noble: Octane, Classic Car, Excellence and Hemmings' specialty titles if something catches my eye.

Hemmings Sports & Exotics, Automobile, Mercedes Benz Classic ( don't give me any crap. I have an old
benz too ) and Porsche Classis. Why is it ( in my opinion ) there are so many better car mags out
of europe?

My boss, who's a car guy, was telling me today that Classic Car mag has a story or column by an auction expert saying that now is the time to buy the 928, they have bottomed out and will now increase in value. I know, we've heard that before. Will try to get a copy to post here.

Any particular reason?
I don't subscribe to any at this point. I've lost interest in most new cars. Magazines like Excellence only seem interested in singing the praises of people who spend $75K to restore a 914.
