I don't think its been done yet, and we are pretty crazy. It has however been discussed at some point.

What I can imagine as practical might be to use a secondary small panel with circuit breakers hardwired to the old ceramic fuse connections.

not directly no - but I see no reason a generic conversion to blade fuses couldn't be done - however I'm not sure it would be very cost effective or particularly easy.

Ideally some replacement terminals would adapt the exsiting slots - (likely these need to be custom made). Even then I think there would also need to be a secondary terminal retention mechanism (likely custom made from an insulator - probably plastic). This rentention mechanism can likely also serve as a terminal cover for electrical protection.

Now some simpler adaptations - using off the shelf commercial multi-way fuse blocks could also be done but this would be rather less elegant.

You could cut the top of the early model panel, cut the bottom off the later model panel, then glue the two together.
