Default Potentiometer Style TPS

I am doing a megasquirt conversion and I need to fit a potentiometer style throttle position switch to the engine. I am using a Euro LH throttlebody. It came with a TPS that from what I understand is just a three position microswitch. It's part number is Bosch 0 280 120 301

I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to cross reference this TPS and find one that fits the same but is of the potentiometer style. I planned on going to the auto parts store and hopeing that they would let me open box after box but I'm sure the knowledge base that makes up Rennlist may already know what I need. How would I determine whether or not a TPS is or is not of the potentiometer variety? Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

I've found this link to be very useful for this:

Following. Doing same thing. Don't need the tps, but it's nice for logging and makes tuning some areas easier.

951 TPS, 951 606 113 00, 0 280 120 400

http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Pors...06-113-00.html

I bought a used one off eBay.

Late GTS TPS are variable, but IIRC, S4-up TPS rotate the opposite way vs. S2/S3.

Thanks Ken. That is one expensive bugger. Whats the deal w/ all the pins on the plug? Most of these TPS's that I've found so far have three pins. Any idea what all those extras do?

Regarding the rotation. I believe the 85-86 32v rotate clockwise but I'm pretty sure ( not 100% ) that the S4 rotates counter clockwise. Meaning the S4 throttle pulls straight back but the 85-86 has a bracket up front that causes the throttle cable to pull towards the front of the car. <-- is that clear as mud?

1,2,3 are for the variable resistor. 4,6 are the idle switch.

I have in my notes that several folks doing MS conversions recommended:

Volvo 850 TPS 0-280-122-001 DELPHI Part # SS10321
or
1993 Porsche 968 Bosch # W0133-1618872

I can't find any specs on this Delphi TPS but since it was only $30ish I went ahead and bought one. I'll post back once it comes in.

Don, which TPS is that data sheet for? I see the Bosch #'s on it but they don't match any we've posted. Does that Bosch # cross to the Delphi #? The 280 122 201 shown on the drawing would certainly bolt up.

I looked 1994 PORSCHE 968 3.0L L4 : Fuel/Air : Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
on rockauto and it shows both the Bosch with that number and the Delphi number, so I'm guessing they cross reference.

OK, I've purchased the new Delphi unit and a used 951 TPS as well. I'll take a look at them, test them and report back here for future generations.

Thanks everyone for your help with this.
