Default Refund problems from Alsa Corp

There is a small company near LA that sells specialty paints. Their catalog is slick and their prices are a little high, but considering the specialty products it seems like a good deal.

Well I order some Clear 4 Chrome back in October. The product never arrived and after a bit I got a note from Alsa that they were back ordered. I canceled the order with Linda - who seems to be the one in their order department and she agreed to a refund.

To date I have yet to receive my refund, Paypal claims they do not cover this transaction. I wish I had used my credit card as I would have had some recourse.

I am pursuing this matter daily getting bounced from person to person each agreeing I am owed a refund.

This is just a heads up for anyone considering doing business with Alsa. I would be interested in any one else who has had a similar experience.

Did you fund PayPal from funds there or did PayPal take funds from your debit/credit card?

If the latter, file a dispute with your credit card company.

This is why I always fund PayPal payments via my debit account - not funds sitting in PayPal.

Credit card only for all internet and mail order transactions.

$50 limit on fraud loss and they give you your credit back more quickly than a debit card where you don't get you actual money back as fast.

Unfortunately with with this transaction the money was transfered from my bank account. I generally use a credit card transfer and had thought about stopping the credit card. Thanks for the advice though.

They are a california company so I will probably sue them in small claims court. For now I am calling the company every day. I hope they will get tired of hearing from me. if I do not get satisfaction by next week I will send a formal demand letter.

That's too bad. I heard great things about their products and was about to try something new they just introduced.

I guess I will wait and see.

Thanks for sharing Dan

I hate to say it, but suspect the new year is going to include a lot of companies folding.

If they are in trouble, you may not be able to get money out of them, and they may not be able to replenish back ordered stock, but maybe they can send you something else you could use?

No point in taking it out on Linda regardless.

Its not "Lindas" problem, but right now, she sits in that seat.

Its not personal...its just business.
