I installed the same unit this weekend along with an Alpine KTP-455U amp in the factory location. It drives all the speakers quite nicely but it sure shows the age of my aftermarket Polk and JL Audio speakers as I had to leave the gain set pretty low to avoid distortion. Next on the list will be some Project 9 door speakers and new woofers. Here are some pics.

The BlueTooth connectivity for hands free voice-dialed calling and audio streaming is a really nice feature. The unit also has an SD card slot, a front and a rear USB port, and an AUX in port on the front. Very pleased for the price.

Interesting - however it has a couple of potential issues depending on configuration:

Firstly - it doesn't support 2ohm speakers. In the 10-speaker system found in 928's from 89-95, the large woofers are 2ohm (mids are all 4ohm). I suspect this is why a lot of people have historically found the woofers not very useful - they're trying to drive them off the same channel as the 4ohm rear mids/tweeters.. which will of course make them sound anaemic.

Secondly, its not bridgeable, unlike the similarly-sized PN4.320D - so not much use for powering a small sub.

It does seem vehicle manufacturers are finding more of a market for people who want to tuck the amps away out of sight in 2-doors or on motorcycles.. its good to see a choice of amps appearing which fit the factory location

True, it does have some limitations. I am going with the front door speaker set-up from Hans and am considering replacing the rear 6.5's with some 4ohm Kicker mini subs, and disconnecting the rest, so this amp would work for me. That said, the Soundstream may still be the better option to allow greater flexibility.

That Toronto looks nice! Probably should have gone w/ that vs. the stock looking (and roughly age of the '95 GTS) Becker CR-210... Oh well...

Is Project 9 Hans' stuff? I have his door speakers and shark woofer and a Kenwood amp for the S/W and door speakers all ready to install...just need to GITERDONE.

I installed an Alpine KTP 445u as well. It fits easily under the cover and sounds good.
