Super Nice (But Super High Asking Price) 928 GTS on ebay

One more thing that is interesting about this sale. I have shown this car to my wife and kids. I just told them the miles and condition and showed them the picture. I then had them guess the asking price. Not one of them guessed over $25,000. Me personally I would much rather have the very low miliage S4 he has for $29,000 and take the other $70,000 and buy a newer ZO6. OH, and my Zo6 would need a sunroof. LOL

With rumours of Porsche producing a new 928 based on the Panamera platform out there , I wonder how that would affect prices on these older GTS's.
Personally , I have been looking for the right GTS for a few years now , but if I could buy a brand new V-8 powered 928 in the same ballpark as these "ultra priced" GTS's , I think I might go that way.

You might be able to get a V6 version for this kind of money? Maybe? Oh, you said you wanted floor mats too? How about a metallic color? Leather? Well, that will of course mean $$$$$$ Porsche will prolly also do a S, 4S, GTS and turbo.... Also priced more like a DB9 and up.
Don't hold your breath, latest news I have heard is Prosche is going in the direction of a mid-engine high-performer instead of anything like a front engine GT.
Plus a 2 door panamera is hardly a 928 reboot.

Its a dealer guide that about half dealers use to determine wholesale values.
Its just a guide however and every car has a poor, fair, and excellent rating with respective price estimate.
Ultra low production or ultra low mileage may go well beyond "excellent" value.
I dont know **** but thats what I read

I know I am kind of new around here, but I also question why a sunroof delete makes the car worth any more. For racing? I would doubt this car is ever going to get into a serious race. Is there another reason that I do not know about that the 928 crowd does not like sunroofs? I love mine and when open I think it adds quite a bit to the street looks of the car.
BTW the price of this 928 has nothing to do with what the car is worth, its about what the buyer is worth. About the value of no compromises, and the willingness to give yourself the best.

I figured there was something else besides the racing factor that I was missing about the sunroof delete being so popular. I am right at 6' and never thought of it as a issue but I guess if you were 6'4 it might be. I still do not see this car being worth anything close to the asking price though. There are too many great 928's that come along well under 40K to choose from. 30K would likely buy my dream 928 which is.... Anything late body and 5 speed, close to perfect original condition, low miles with maintenance up to date, 18 in. Carrera's, all tastfully modded and supercharged. Did I leave anything out.

Monthly payments?
The difference between a 9/10 car and a 10/10 isn't 10%. Yes if you looked long enough you might find a pristine low mileage S4 5 spd for $30k, I've seen one that was very nice and sold for $17.5k to LoMiler, who I think flipped it for mid $30k range. You won't find a similar GTS for that unless the seller has no clue. It all depends on how far from 10/10 you are happy with, and how long and how much time you are willing to spend looking and waiting instead of driving.
I kind of doubt whoever buys this car will see the price as a financial hardship, or even a real issue.

This car was sold a couple of years ago for a higher price. It is a great car at a fair price. If you are over 6 ft tall the sunroof delete option is a big plus.
Low mileage, original 5spd GTS's are selling well at high values.
