At least in PET, Euro foglamp lens/reflector part numbers are the same whether you input a VIN from a LHD Euro or a RHD S4 from Britain. So I'd say that there are no RHD-specific foglamp lenses. Just Euro vs. U.S.

Thanks Rob
Thats as I expceted. Neither Aux High Beam Patterns or Fog Patterns should be specific to LHD/RHD.
However it is quite clear to me that foglights should be on the outside for functional reasons in better illuminating curbs & road markings as well as in better demarcating the corners of the car for other motorists under adverse visibility conditions.
I can only imagine the Porsche engineers comments when they heard what the DOT regulations for foglights required that they change...

Well, yes. Its same as body as mine, right? Replace the fog/parks with the Euro equivalent. Probably more available than the S4 stuff. Some of the wiring is inplace, if not all.

When you say for most folks it is not worth it, can you expand on that a bit?
I have really good H5's pn my car and they suck, got the stuff to do adjustable h4's coming and thought why not do the whole deal back to back.

The reflectors are metal in both cases, the adjusters, ekelton and rear case is plastic and the lens is glass.
If you add stongard or similar protection I think the practical limit of total wattage in the unit on at the same time is approx 90W. 2x 55W H3's on at the same time (ROW fog config) is too much @ 110W, single 100W H3 is too much also (USA Config).
Best option to me is 55W H3 Aux High beams and HID ~35W in fogs potentially on together (ROW fog config) for 90w total.
Is it worth it to swap? - for most people certainly no...
Alan
BTW HID in the fogs is not a simple plug & play solution - it needs adaptation to not be anoying to other motorists.

Not sure what that inner spring-loaded plastic lens is all about, but took mine out as a Bonehead PO put 100W H3s in there and melted them.
I will say, you can lay on the lightage.

So why do the French get a special one?

Lots of French driving lights are yellow-tinted, perhaps it's a special colored lens?

How many people ever use their foglights for real?
You need to swap the cluster housings out...
If you add HID lighting you add another ~$200 and need to drill the housings for the HT lines.
The Euro fog lenses also have a marker light socket - if you want to wire that you have to add new wiring/grommet in the housing
The Euro lenses have the transparent spacer in place of the rubber spacer between outside light & turn signal/marker - you have to make sure you get all the hardware for that.
Lots of money, lots of work - not that much different for most folks.
I use the Fogs for DRL in wintertime, but thats work to configure too...
