Then I figured out how to get the kickdown switch kicking, and well, now we're having fun!
It was totally different from anything I had ever driven before and took me a while to get a sense of its dimensions, feel, and limits ... in other words to "become one" with it. Have fun doing that, and be careful while you get to know it !

Welcome! Great choice of car and color.
NOTHING looks better than a black car when it's clean!
NOTHING looks worse than a black car when it's dirty!
I've been using the Turtle Wax "Black car kit" It makes my car look amazing even though the paint is far from perfect. It's messy and is a chore to apply, but the results are spectacular... YMMV.
If your paint is still very good,(it looks like it from the photos) you will probably be better off with a high end carnuba wax.
Looks like you've done it right. One major item I will point out... Make SURE the dealer that did the PPI and the Porsche shop you bring the car to know how to check the automatic flexplate for pre-load. You might want to invest in a PKlamp to assure your flexplate stays put in relation to the driveshaft. The last thing you want to deal with is THRUST BEARING FAILURE. You can search Thrust bearing failure, or TBF to get the gory details.
By the way, you now own my dream car.... It's extra cool that it was Charlies car if you ask me...
Now you're WINNING!

Very nice. You're going to have a blast with that in Florida! Watch the front curbs--suspension looks like it's dialed in low. Again, congrats. / Bruce

The same diecast company puts out a 'factory' S4 model also... just have to find one! Then, strip the body down to metal and with some modeler's putty, make the GTS quarter panels and aero mirrors; repaint & reassemble -and you're set!
A lot of us have been waiting patiently for a GTS diecast to come around -hell, I would even like an S4/GT in 1:18 to be available!
Here's my Koenig model in red, with what would scale up to 20-22" wheels, slotted discs and Brembo big reds:

Actually, it represents one of the kit makers from back in the day: Koenig. So, this would be one of the S -> S4 upgrade kits (see the 'S' spoiler under the 'S4-type' spoiler?) -where on the real cars, Koenig put S4 front & rear bumper covers on an S model, along with the scooped doors/wide quarters/wide wheels to achieve a unique, yet cohesive look.

Thanks for the info. I have to find a way to do that wheel upgrade to my model.
