Default 928 in the Car of the Century Contest - Hampton Roads Auto Show, VA

For folks in VA/NC:

The annual Hampton Roads International Auto Show occurs every January at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

This year, to celebrate 100 years of car shows in Hampton Roads, they're having a "Car of the Century" contest. Ten cars, one from each of the last ten decades, will be on display in the main lobby of the convention center. A panel of judges selected the ten cars from submitted entries. Car show visitors will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite; the winner will be named "Car of the Century" and the owner will receive a cash prize. The winner will be announced at the show, 4PM on Sunday, 8 January.

"So what", you might ask.

Well, the 1990s will be represented by a 928, specifically, my Coral Red '91 GT.

Not sure whether my write-up submission convinced them or there was just not much competition in the 1990s group. I only know there will be a DeLorean in the 80s group, no idea what the rest of the competition will be.

So, if you plan to attend, I'd really appreciate your vote to get a Porsche (not to mention a Shark) selected as "Car of the Century".

Show info and discount coupons can be found on the show website.

Congrats man! I will be at the show and will vote for your car. Although I don't yet own a P-Car it is nice to know there is strong representation in Va Bch. do you attend Cars and Coffee or Jenros?

Best of luck

Thanks.

I get to Cars and Coffee most of the time, but never been to Jenros. Our PCA region breakfast on the Southside is the 2nd Saturday of the month, and we average 40-50 folks, so I don't usually stay long at C&C, can't afford to blow another whole Saturday morning - not enough time in the day to get things done.

Agreed on the front plate... I hate it. But I was in the Preservation class at the Savannah Parade, and that's the original setup. I actually had to buy that... and a CD2 for the dash. It's all about originality in that class.
