Default 928 tire recommendations (18 inch)

I have a set of 18inch Panamera wheels and intend to mount them on the car (86.5 928 S)

Wondering if anyone can recommend a size and brand for my 8x18 and 9x18 set?

I was thinking 225/40-x18 and 255/35x18 as they seem to be close to the circumference and diameter of the standard 225/50x16 they are replacing.

Any suggestions? I was steering towards the Kumho Ecsta 4X KU22 or Yokohama S.drive (cheap and all season).

Thanks in advance.

I bought a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS for my previous M3.....they were the only 19" tires I could find that had a 50k warranty.....the price was also quite good...

My M3 came with PS2's.....the PS2's did handle better, but were much noiser, rode worse and only lasted 22k.....the Conti's total grip was lower, but the feel was still good, nice and predictable...quiet and long wearing too....not to mention WORLDS better in the rain too

On the 86, I have 8.5 x 18 on front with 225/40/, 10 x 18 on rear - with 255/35's - good combo, but they are BF Goodrich G Force Sports, and harsh as h**l. I'm interested to see what you end up with, and how they ride. Based on my G-tech GPS they do run very close to accurate on the speedo, though.

Another vote for the Continentals... Except I got the DW which stands for Dry, Wet. I love them. Good price long wearing, very predictable.

DWS = Dry, Wet, Snow.

I've got 2010 panamera 10-spoke 18" wheels. I put on Hankook Ventus V12 evo's and have been quite pleased (225 front 255 rear) when I was able to drive it. The price was reasonable and I did not find them particularly harsh or noisy. There will be some difference going from a 16" or 17" wheel to an 18" in comfort but not enough to make me wanna go back. Good luck with the search........BTDT!

I can only comment to the Yokohama S.drive. they are awesome as far as traction goes but because of that you will ware them out in a season. mine made it 5000 kilometers but I am a very aggressive driver.
I have the Pilot® Sport A/S Plus on the car now and got more life out of them.
I will try another set of the Pilot® Sport A/S Plus to give them a fair test.

I put the Conti DWS on my AMG. Good tires and good price...

I also bought a set of Panamera 5 spokes 18" wheels but no tires yet. I was thinking of Conti DW ...

I just replaced tires on my '85. I had the BFG TA-KDW's with the aggressive pattern. Handle great, wear pretty good too, but on the noisy side especially when the get worn (1/2). I decided to try Conti's the DW's, the ones Andrew wrote about. I love them, much quieter and a softer ride compared to the BFG. Haven't pushed them hard yet as I just put them on. Rears are 285/30/18, fronts are 245/35/18 on Carrera III wheels.

+1 for the Contis (mine are the DWS) on Panamera 10-spoke takeoffs. I'd be willing to try the DW as well based upon my experience and Andrew's post. GL!
