Congrats on the acquisition, Mark.

Fascinating to know that this is how it all began. Parts shouldn't be too much a problem for ya this go round.

At minimum, you'll probably want to bring along a rebuilt MAF. Especially, with a LH 16V. (Never know with these darn MAFs.)
The seller advertises he will pick me up but I've yet to hear from him.

Could be pouting from a lower than expected close. (Note that sellers on eBay motors can delete negative feedback - best to leave neutral if he cancels the sale.)

I could probably even convert it to use a S3 LH, with an O2

Someone needs to be a guinea pig so we can get PorKen to make us a special chip

I think you may be right Ken. I wonder if he will leave a negative feedback on me as I have not sent his deposit as I planned on paying in full when i picked it up. I was prepared to be there in less than 24 hours from closing as per his request.

As long as you are trying to contact him through the ebay auction, I think you are OK, but why not go ahead and make the deposit via whatever since they are new inexperienced seller.

The one concern I had about the auction was this purchase. He put the car on Ebay "as is" on the 21st and then on the 27th he bought a manual for the fuel injection. It left me thinking he was not really serious about selling.

Thanks guys. I'm guessing he does not want to sell ( at least at that price) so I will continue my search for a nice 5sp S.

I would not let him off the hook so easy, do the deposit just be patient until after the first.

OTOH you must hold the record for number of 928's purchased, so ...

So Mark are you going to have a Black Race car as well, or will this stay a street machine?

No I wanted a street ride. I did finally hear from the seller and he's out of town but back next week. I'll report what's next

I just got this message from the seller.
"Message from merchant: HI Mark: I just got back into my shop after being away for a week and found that someone had broken in and stolen some things and took the 928 out for a joyride apparently, and wrecked the interior. Car is at insurance adjusters now, I apologize..

just waiting till it re-appears on ebay LOL.. Bummer...the lengths some folks go to ... so they can scam the system... One reason I rarely use Ebay anymore..too many shill's etc...

If anyone can find a nice Euro S..it's you Mark..

Good luck in the hunt..
