hi alex, hope you are well. the inlet manifold porting is a project i thought of trying on the old gts racer, i never have time though! or a throttle body per bank. we are limited on tyres though to lay down more power!
dont want to hijack the thread but hows the race car repairs going?

regards mark

The racer, good question...

So far we have done the following:

1. GTS block bored out to 100.5mm
2. JE custom pistons to match the block, running 12:1 compression
3. 50mm ITBs off an E39 M5 mated to a 4 x custom adaptor plates
4. Custom carbon airbox
5. JDS Alpha-N engine management
6. Custom cams off Colin's wee enterprise

Fully rose jointed chassis, including offset upper A-arms for more camber and eliminated Weissach axle. Rose jointed shock mounts. Rebuilt shocks to higher spec, fully triangulated cage, custom wiring harness etc. Running 305/30/18 and 285/35/18 on OZ Racing wheels.

Okay...my thoughts....since this IS a street car.....

I would do the Elgin cams, but keep the valves stock.....with 5.0L under it...why spend the $$$

Hi Alex

I have been watching this thread with a lot of interest...

My only technical comment so far, regarding replacing the valves, would be to not bother with the exhaust valves as I have standard S2 valves in mine and although I cannot comment on the usefullness of 968 inlet valves as with Nitrous you sort of cheat the inlet valve flow by slipping the Oxygen past the valve as liquid Nitrous... but.... whichever way you look at my system , it runs a lot more than the hp you are looking to flow and the standard exhaust valves allow those exhaust gases out no problem at all, although I will say that there was an exhaust restriction after the gases were out which is why I basically run a straight through system after the exhaust manifolds... i.e Richard Anderson X-Pipe / no front boxes/ no middle resonators/ the new Paul Anderson straight through rear S4 box only.... its a little loud to say the least (over 130DB at over 6000) but it works for mine.

Hope this helps...

All the best Brett

i think alex has the 32valve gt engine for the s2 hes got. these have small valves compared to the 16 valve engines. thats probably why your s2 has no restrictions in the valve department.
my dad runs 250/300 brake of gas on a old small block chevy motor, in the front of a 911,i know those have 2 big valves per cylinder.
having the 4 valve per cylinder heads increased the air flow speed, but i guess they can become more restrictive easier.
nothing a big wad of cash wont solve!

i used to use nos to combat lag on a old 965 turbo engine, with a k29 on. its the best bang for buck.
if alex had 50/100 brake jets it doesnt run out as fast as people say with a 10lb bottle or 2.
i dont think brett needs any encouragment though with the gas, hes already converted!
a few more people should try it! its no good when it runs out and you are back to reality with whatever 'real' horsepower you are left with though.

regards mark
