Default just received my new 928 keys

Some months ago when I bought the 928, I scanned the keys for backup because I only have one copy of them (the red ones, noticeable wear). I delayed making new keys but some weeks ago the key for the driver door started refusing to get in.

I contacted keysinthepost.com and ask them a copy sending them the original scans. After one week (I ask regular post to Spain, they are in uk) the keys arrived some minutes ago.

I was a bit scary because I was not sure the problem was on the keys or the key hole, etc... but the new black keys went in absolutely smooth on every door. Great.

You know, don't let anybody make a picture of your keys with the iphone...

I've tried to contact Keys4Classics about five times over the past 2+ weeks via email. All come back as undeliverable, with and without photos of my keys attached. Has anyone else tried them lately? I will see about the keysinthepost.com. Can they cut a key from the digital photos as Keys4Classics could?

I had no issues with keys4classics. Stuart was great to deal with and very responsive ... but also very busy.

Here is the address I used.

Keys4Classics <websales@keys4classics.com>

Good luck

That's the email address that I sent em to, the one from their web site. Everyone of them came back, and I've emailed them 4 times since the last week of Nov.

I'll place an order with keysinthepost.com, they seem similar & hopefully they can do as good of job for me as they did for Joaquin.

They ask for the key code. Is that anywhere on the option code sticker inside the owner's manual? I know it shows your serial #; color code; & options.

MGW, yes, that's what I did. I sent them some scanned images of the keys. The wear where very obvious in those old red keys. But the new ones are just perfect... they fit in without problem and open every door much more smoothly than the old ones.

If you already made an order to keysinthepost and sent them the pictures you will see they work great.

ps.- my keys are the old ones, no alarm.

I used this guy and had no problems. He rekeyed my driver side door and also said he can make keys. I don't know whether he can do it from a picture.

Thanks for the reminder...I needed a Xmas gift for myself from my Son. I think you need to use the email@keys4classics address to ask for a quote on keys after reading the instructions on the website.

See bottom of this link for another email address - CLICK HERE

That site is hard to navigate and read. Hope it works.

This thread reminds me I need a spare for my '87 (I have pictures on file just in case).

You can order a basic plastic head key or a blade only ( and clip on your own Porsche plastic head): I've ordered both

Hi Joaquin
You're using a key regularly ... that must mean that you're driving it more now?? ... I hope so.
We all need to see a video of you driving it flat out ... soon ... are you at that stage yet?

I hope that too but not yet... I have the car down there without the front wheels. Right now I'm waiting for them to rebuild my steering rack.

I change everything but the rack to try to remove play, but once I finished, I noticed rack was tight with new bushings but still with play inside it. So I decided to remove it again and try to fix it. I have a place near that are specialized in rebuilding steering racks, and should come back today or tomorrow. Then I will have it ready for another trip to the safety inspection.

With new wheels, new tie rods, and rebuilt rack, she should pass. Many things to do yet (I will let you know) but the car will be ready to ride (legally...)
