Default WTB '90 or later well cared for 928

Rennlisters:

I've been learning about 928s and am ready to jump in. I missed out recently on an ex-Willhoit car (pricey but fantastic condition) that got me hooked. I intend to drive this car frequently and don't have time for another project car. I can't afford a GTS but am willing to spend top dollar for a well cared for S4. The wife says airbags and a light exterior color. I've been watching all the usual sources but please pass along any examples you might know about!

Check Michael Wilhoit's site. He has a few that fit your needs.

Michael don't have S4's right now but has two GTS and one 86S.

Good luck with your search.

So I assume you are looking on ebay, cars.com, autotrader and Craigs List in your local area. There was a nice Venetian Blue on ebay, I don't think it sold, maybe it will return, not sure of MY. No affiliation. No matter where it is, get a PPI by someone who knows sharks. You don't list location -- how far afield are you looking?

I would sit and wait out a nice Rlister owned and properly cared for car to present itself. Patience is hard when the urge to buy now is strong. Every couple of months or so an excellent, car with current maintenance comes up for sale.

It's probably not that clean but I'm sure it can be easily brought back since he hasn't had it that long and has only driven it 1k miles.

Mechanically the car is excellent, only thing I think it needed was maybe a clutch slave cylinder but I suspect that fresh fluid and proper bleeding of the system may be enough to resolve the issue I had with it once. Let me know if you're interested.

Nothing attracts sellers attention like waving money. Most of us here would like to buy a nice well cared for 928, if you want to stand out from the pack of buyers, make your price range and time frame known.

*Good to give an idea of your location, guessing CA is Calif or Canada.

Gene, picking up Afshin's ex-90GT would be a great jump into the deep end of 928 ownership. I have been contemplating selling my '90 GT, but it's black on black, which doesn't sound like a favored spousal color combo.

Price Range and milage would be a plus to know.

For Rob's car or the Marine Blue GT?

Robs car has to be near perfect, I haven't followed along with the latest thread Rob but last I remember you had rebuilt the motor and had every nut and bolt redone. Or was that the GTS? I can't keep track anymore.

I think OB1 is asking Gene what his desired price and acceptable mileage (mpg? miles on the car? distance willing to travel to buy one?)range is.

I haven't rebuilt the GT engine, though I have replaced just about every conceivable wear item on it and the rest of the car. The GTS isn't for sale.
