Brake light switch wire identification
I recently decided to ditch all the stock 928 electronics in my track car since the only things I actually needed were a few of the wires to the gauges and the brake/reverse lights. All the wiring for the Painless harness is done except for the brake/reverse lights.
From the brake switch going into the cabin are 5 wires:
2 blue w/black stripes
1 black
1 brown w/black stripe
1 black/red stripe
What goes to where?
Thanks
Seb

Page 97-37 in the Factory Workshop Manual has a clear schematic of the brake switch wiring.
Black - power from Fuse #10 to the switches
Black/Red - power from the switches to the Light Control Unit
Blue/Brown - Failure signal from the switches to the Central Warning Computer
Blue/Brown - from one switch to the other
There is no Brown/Black wire associated with the brake switches. This will be a switched ground wire of some sort.
