I am an X-pipe addict
I have been sober for one week.
I put the factory cats on my '86.5 auto for an emissions test. Leave it on for the winter, I said. Save gas; save the penguins, I said. 'Traction control', I said.
It's not just full throttle that's anemic. Even slight throttle is different. It still scoots along pretty good, but it just doesn't do it like it used to.
I miss not having to modulate the pedal to keep the tires from spinning, all the time. I want the LSD to try and swap ends, when it shifts. I want it to be squirly in the corners, if I'm not careful.
I miss the sound of it. At idle. At part throttle. At wide open throttle. A comforting rumble in resonators has been replaced by a gurgle in the cats.
It heats up faster... that's good, right?

It's OK. The first step is admitting you have a problem.
I personally can take mine or leave it. I can quit anytime I want. Really.
Why haven't I? Oh I dunno, I don't really have time to swap it back to stock. I could if I wanted to, I just, you know... I can handle it.

It was sunny and dry, yesterday, after a long stretch of heavy rain. I put the TB covers back on the black car and took it for a spirited drive. (No heater/defrost, so no rainy days!)
It was a bit chilly, 45F/7C, so I was a bit chilled, but 213 RW SAE becomes >225 UNC at these temps, which makes it a time machine. Pushing the pedal to the floor puts everything in fast forward. Amazing how quickly the cars behind turn into dots...
OMFG! Falling off the wagon never felt so good.

Addicts tend to change one addiction for another. As you already have and use LSD, try a crack pipe instead of the x pipe next time. Same sort of head rush.

Hi, I'm Alex and was just down the hall in the recovering addicts of Paul Champaign and saw your gathering. I too am an x-pipe addict. I don't have one yet but take a hit off my friends x-pipe at 928 gatherings each month. I blame them. Oh wait, I'm not suppose to blame anyone but myself. My fault. My fault.
