Thumbs up

I too appreciate the craftsmanship but much prefer the classic 928's sculpted seats. The 993 seat looks a little generic to me.
Marvelous work.

I voted, and I will offer my opinion, I think the look awesome. But, I also own a 996 TT with the sports seats, so I am a bit biased. In my opinion, they provide just as much comfort as the GTS seats, but also provide quite a bit more lateral stability for cornering. They are a great compromise between the comfort and some sportster CS's...

Also, you get Paul's quality, design and a carbon fiber backing. When I get around to my crazy Strosek build (not on my GTS), I am putting a set of these in it.

Also, dont forget that if the photo was a mocked up 993 seat, the 928 seat will be wider at the base than the ones in the photos..

I voted for the "I want" option. I like the more contemporary looks and the option to paint the back of the seat to match the exterior of the car. .....not to mention the level of quality I'm sure these would be if Paul does them!

My favorite seats, can regular 928 seats be transformed into these early seats?

No, you need early cores to do that. But they are pretty, the manual version is very light and sits lower than any other Porsche seat. And they are very comfortable when done right.
I did the set in that picture for one of Roger's cars.

Those early seats are way way more comfortable than the later S4 style 928 seats... I loved the ones in my 84.... and when I get an OB (true OB..78 or 79)...I'll get Paul to do them up same as he did the ones in the pics.. very nice!

Newer seats-firmer, older seats-cushier, both very comfortable. 77Tony

I have temporarily installed a pair of 993 sports seats in my 928. I have not connected the electrics on them so they are not ideally adjusted in the car, however they do look really good. These are from my 993 so they wont stay in the 928, but I can see the attraction as well as the fit. Not only they look like they were meant to be in the cabin, but they fit on the sliders perfectly with no mods, only the electric plug needs so mods to make it work that is why I did not bother.

I don´t like the ears on the 993 sport seats .The 928 sport seats are looking a lot lighter in the car with the small headrest and the "A" like shape of the backrest.

Thank you for the first hand comparison.

I do have a feeling that if the 928 had kept in production beyond 1995, it would have eventually been fitted with these seats for the sport seat option. It would have made sense on a production standpoint and would have been a cost effective addition to an interior revision.

Thank you all for your comments and opinions. Keeping in mind that I am not proposing to replace the existing 928 sport seat, they are after all, a big part of my business
This is just another option for those who like it.

My problem is, the more I drive my 79 with Recaro racing buckets, they are quickly becoming my favorite seat and I"m thinking about those for my 81 with a custom Champagne cover.
