Default 928sRus Fuel Related Parts

After the failure of a fuel pressure gauge and the subsequent fire and damage to Randy's car 928sRus will stop selling any fuel related items and kits that are not Factory or OE equipment.

This includes the fuel pressure gauge kit and all fuel hose kits and clamps.

We will make available the fuel pressure gauge kit on the understanding that it is for test purposes only and will not be attached to the car permanently.

We will sell SAE30R9 hose and EFI clamps as stand alone products for fuel hose replacement on the understanding that the customer accepts the responsibility for fitting the said components.

That being said, do you recommend that owners with your fuel line kit remove them and install OE hoses.

I'm happy with mine, but if there is the possibilty if fire I would change everything to OE.

Sorry to hear this Roger,

Might want to modify your signature.

Though that said, I have installed numerous amounts of the fuel line kits, and have NEVER had a problem. I will continue to do so as well. For those of you with this kit, I would not personally bother changing over to OEM lines.

OEM lines in most cases to not exist anymore as Porsche has stopped selling them.

No issues what so ever with the fuel hose kits as they comprise of the correct SAE30R9 EFI hose and clamps. No plans on recalling them or recomending they are changed out.

I will continue selling the component parts but it will be up to the customer to specify/purchase what they need in the terms of quantity/size (diameter & length). The same way you can buy the parts from your local autparts supplier.

By selling a kit we are saying that we are supplying all the correct parts to make the modification to the hoses on the car. I no longer want that liability hanging over my head.

That's too bad, I think your kit was great. But I understand your decision.

Although a simple disclaimer with the kits would be sufficient. Usually stating that the parts are not approved for street use and not DOT and that the proper installation is up to the buyer will remove any possibilty of liability.

Will a disclaimer really work? I probably need to take legal advice here.

Sure it would. Im pretty good at that kind of thing if you want me to do a free draft for you. The key would be to produce it on adhesive paper and wrap it arround the hoses making it impossible to get seperated from the kit. And also include the disclaimer on your invoice for each kit.

disclaimers are on about all aftermarket parts. if the crimps are installed right, they have the same chances of leaking like OEM crimps.

Adamant,
USA and cdn law differs greatly.

Roger, I would contact a lawyer in that field and get the information.
That said, I doubt that you could be held on the fuel lines as they are of spec, and only a poor installation could affect them.

A disclaimer stating the parts are for racing use only and are not approved for street use etc. pretty much covers you, the laws in that respect do not differ enough to make it an issue for any country. This is what most aftermarket performance suppliers use. Paying a lawyer for what is a very simple disclaimer is not needed IMHO.

And being that you sell all over the world you want something that covers you everywhere. And the racing only disclaimer does that.

Thank God! I bought the "Porsche" fuel injector hose repair kit from one of the other vendors a couple years ago. $25 EACH and it had those crappy OE compression fittings.

I'll call you tomorrow Roger to order what I need for the GTS. All this engine fire stuff got me thinking about replacing my hoses anyway.

You're a good man Roger Tyson. / Bruce

Yep. "For Off Road Use Only" pretty much covers it and has been a catch phrase for go-fast parts forever.

Adamant1971, your avatar needs a disclaimer too. I think I'm going to pass out.

Sorry to hear this, but not suprised. You can see why many vendors sell the stock parts only. If the stock part is too expensive or NLA thier answer is that you are just pretty much screwed. I hope you don't end up having to head that way as it would be a big loss for the whole comunity.
