Tony,

If you're still interested in the '86, I'd be happy to go look at it for you, as I live in Virginia Beach.

Cheers,

Andrew

Ran a carfax WP0JB0927GS861533, and it checked out fine. Hopefully Andrew & Jim will be taking a a ride over tomorrow afternoon providing I can get of hold of the existing owner. After balance of payment is made, Andrew has offered to store the 86.5 at his house pending transportation to Texas. TIA. 77Tony

I know of an 85 US model in college station with a broken timing belt due to a bad Water pump. The color is Metro Gray Metallic, Its an automatic with LSD. Paint and body looked pretty good, had Euro head lights and sunroof. I think it also did not have rub strips. The car has been inside the shop for a few years. The owner was going to turn it into a Chevy powered track car, but used a 914 instead. He also had 2 spare 16 valve motors, don't know if they were euros.
If this deal doesn't work out and your interested in this car, let me know and I will put you in contact with the owner. Anyone else interested let me know.

Not to hijack, but a quick comment:

With the 86.5 S4 brakes, you can fit Late (87+) 944 Phone Dials (8x16 ET 53) up front, with a mm or three clearance of the front S4 brakes. Also nice to match in the rear with early (86) 944 Turbo rears (8x16 ET 23.3).

I have done this on both a 5-speed and an Automatic 86.5 with no problem, except the 5-speed rears needed open lug nuts, no spacer, and a very slight flaring of the rear fenders.

I went for it after hearing that someone in Texas was running this combination successfully.

Carlos, That's exactly what we had in mind. Can't the rear studs be cut to accept the stock lugs ? I did that on the GTS when I mounted the deeper dish Fikse FM 5's ? 77Tony

Probably could do that, but I wanted to be able to go back to stock, and would be concerned if I put the spacers back on with the stock wheels.

Also, instead of going with the polished/chrome look you have (which look great with your wheels, btw), I went dark - I painted the nuts flat black and they blended in with the threaded studs that were showing.

Here are a few more possibilities on wheels. Jeff snagged some cool 18" Audi wheels on ebay for cheap. Also spotted these from a W12 18"s on Pelican, not sure if they fit our cars. T

Tony,
Those A8 (W12) wheels have a 5 x 112 bolt pattern. Your Porsche has 5 x 130.
