I wanted to see what brake pads 928 owners like best. For years we have sold the Repco/PBR pads but they have become increasingly harder to get so we are considering alternatives.

Centric Posi-quiet Ceramic.
Like these better than PRB, Textar, Mintex I've tried in the past.
No more intermittent squeal in hot stop and go traffic, solid stopping under very aggressive driving, reasonable dust. Also not harsh on the rotors like the last PBR's were. Seem reasonably priced too.

it may just have been the few sets I tried, but I had one set dust themselves 2 weeks after install (there was pretty much NOTHING left), granted the owner did drive hard, but that was ridiculous. All the other sets have made a ton of dust, and squealed like there was no tomorrow regardless as to what was done.
Mark,
The best answer to the question, is what do you put on your cars and what will you never put on your car?
The last set of whatever I bought from you for the S4 OB update w. 993-nonTT rotors are fantastic and very strong grip, a little noisy but I have not installed the sticky pads on them that pinch into the pistons.
Can you post the characteristics of each set in the thread for comparison?
Cheers,
Andre

I'll use off-brand semi-metallic pads on the street and then Hawk Blues when it matters. I'm using some re-packaged Axxis Metal Masters now (If I've tracked down the P/Ns right) and they're fine.
Have you considered stocking race pads?

I have tried PBR's on the track and did not care for them but they seem fine for street use plus they dust so much less than stock and the dust is a lighter color.
My all time favorite pads are the free ones that come in on wrecks
I too melted the Mintex pads I used and yes I brake hard, very hard.....thats what theyre' there for.
