Default Found a few issues on my S4 tonight

A thunk in the rear of the car..

I found the rear sway bar end, and the arm about 2" in from the end..contacting the body seam above them on Carls endlinks..theyre juuust long enough, that the full suspension travel "thunk" ive been complaining about, is the swaybar hitting the damn body.

Also found that the inner tie rod on the drivers side of the rack, is bad..thats the play in my front end that has plagued me for a while...

So what do I need for the tie rod issue, just the tie rod 928 347 031 07, or the tie rod -and- the stop 928 347 329 04 as well?

I'll be getting both ball joint ends as well..theyre tight, just split boots.

Just replace the inner and outer tie rods both sides.

Transfer the stops to the new tie rods.

I'd like to see the rear swaybar issue. i can't quite understand how it could be hitting the body with stock links, but I guess the repositioning with Carl's plates is contributing. Any pics showing this? My car is still stuck on the lift as I am waiting for my tranny to come back from the rebuilder. Should be no more than another week before the lift is available again.

The stops should only come off when you are changing the rack. You slide them inward to get at the inner tie rod 32mm nut.

I'm changing the rack on this '93 so I've already pulled it off.

Ah, right, they go on the end of the rack. I have a mental block with those. I once swapped a rack and forgot to swap the stops.

I think Bill and Sean have answered your question on the stops.
