Having worked overseas in construction camps with British-run dining halls, I can completely understand the British breakfast. Even had the full Monty breakfast a few times, but I generally didn't have to eat for a day afterwards. I can even somewhat understand the Bangers and Mash.
I cannot, for the life of me, understand the British addiction to Shepherd's Pie. I've seen guys eat that stuff daily for dinner for months at a time. To a Brit, that stuff must be the equivalent of crack cocaine.

My son still talks about the bacon sandwich we had while waiting for a flight at Heathrow.
Last few days of our most recent trip to London we stayed in a Marriot that included a full breakfast, and I got kind of attached to the beans on toast with a couple eggs and bacon.
