I know that on mine the intake along with the water-bridge had to come off to install GB's baffle.

yeah I've been eyeballing it..and yeah there's stuff I'll try and do.. I have skinny little hands and I can pull some stuff off but there's too much going on down there.

Next year I think we are going to do a fairly sizeable maintenance (head gaskets, cam chains / pads and am going to probably get the magnesium polished rather than repaint/re-enamel the organ pipes) so I'll add this to the list for that one.

Thanks all.

matt.

it seems that there is a mixed opinion as to whether the oil filler neck can be R&R'ed with intake in place.
clearly, Dwayne's write up suggests this is possible, but wondering if installing a GB baffle is the difficult
part of the reinstall?? is that the difficult part, or is it the removal of the water bridge?

and......why is my temp II sensor wet with oil; that can't be coming up from below??

My intake is the "organ pipe" type....different than in Dwayne's write up...see post #44 for what's under my hood...

As I showed yesterday, the bridge is removable provided you can remove the 4 bridge screws. If you can do that, the neck would be easy as there's a 1/2" clearance between the bottom of the intake and top of the neck. There's two 10mm bolts holding the neck in place (circled in green.) The neck sits on top of Greg's (or anyone else's baffle) so it will go. I agree with Dave; you're armed with everything you need to know, albeit Dwayne and I've shown it can be done. My last comment on this thread - best of luck whatever you do.

Again, just because you and Dwayne were able to get the bridge out on your motors doesn't mean that anyone can do it on their motors. The tolerances on the castings are huge.

after a week of drives consisting of hour long runs, at moderate and high (100mph) speeds, oil is pooling in the
crank valley, a little more than I like to see, and it does not make me happy!

regardless of the procedure, I am starting to think I should take care of this. or is this just a nuance, and let it go
until that inevitable time, when an intake refresh becomes necessary?

as mentioned, I am not ready, (and don't believe it is essential, at this time), to start an intake refresh.

if I do need to lift the intake a bit to get the neck out, how "simple" or how invasive? is it simply loosening a few
bolts, and getting a little clearance, and buttoning it all back up, or is this something that can easily require major surgery?

No Vector,

Where did you source the black plugs on the metal oil filler? And I assume the brass hose fitting came from Home Depot or the like? Size of that, too?
