"Roger never called you out by name, I did, and my post is still there from two years ago. If I recall, I also listed your home address but deleted that because it was an assholish thing for me to do.
The gauge in question is NOT one of the above part numbers previously listed and yes, a lot of us are leaving them on our cars.
Funny how you only come out of the woodwork when it has something to do with Roger bashing. Keeping up that MO shows your true intentions, because it sure isn't to actually contribute to the forum."
Sean,
I think you have an issue if what I have to say bothers you so much that you somehow track down my address and want to post it on a public forum I think this says a little about you. I have never even thought to try find your full name . but if since you have my address feel free to drop by and we can talk about it. Hell we might even become friends ! tell you what if you want to send me a pm and I 'll send you my phone number in case you get lost on your way or if you just want to talk about anything I'm game .
I said before if I am wrong about the gauge I will apologize. So post the part number or specs and I will do so.
I feel a few of you would have a different attitude about this if your car had caught fire . IMHO if Randy had bought this gauge somewhere else say ebay or another online retailer and this happened it would be a trial by fire but, since it was Mr. Tyson we overlook the fact he sourced a gauge that is apparently not rated as an automotive fuel pressure gauge and sold as one .When we put people on a pedestal they should be held to same standard . The bottom line is customers trusted it was a "fuel pressure gauge" and it is not as of now.
If I am wrong I will apologize

Booby,
Please show us where it has been said it is not a fuel gauge.
Additionally, 1 failure after 3 years of use and TONS having been installed on cars around the globe is hardly anything to get concerned about. Parts do fail with time. If you cannot accept this, take the bus, they will still fail and leave you late for that meeting.
It is unfortunate that this has caused the damage it did. But if a part fails after 3 years in service, that is a healthy amount of time in my books. I have used hydraulic gauges that only last weeks in the field, then others that are around a year.
I think what would be good is for people to inspect their gauges every now and then and if the needle is not returning 100% back to zero that it should be removed from service immediately as it shows the tube is weakening. Or just even suggest that the gauge be replaced once every 2 years and I doubt that we would ever see a failure.
But for everyone to panic over just one failure is a little off the deep end in my books. Especially with so many variables. Did Randy install it himself? Maybe he over tightened it and the original metal was compromised. Maybe he dropped the gauge and it put a little more stress in the gauge than normal. This list could go on indefinitely.
Or how about this, one member buys a SC kit, and installs it in his car, but he doesn't replace his fuel lines. The car now runs a little higher fuel pressure due to the boost and a line pops causing a fire. Should every SC kit that person produced be recalled? If no, why not? It is the same thing, a part has failed as a direct relation to the install.
If we had 5 fail within a 6 month period, then yes a recall should be offered. But for 1 to fail after 3 years in service, nope.

Both of you, knock it off.
You guys are arguing over speculation. For that kind of nonsense go to OT and do a search for "treadmill"
...and probably a better driver.

I like to picture Roger in a tuxedo T-shirt.
'Cause it says like, I wanna be formal but I'm here to party too. I like to party, so I like my Roger to party.

I just met Randy a few months back, seemed okay to me. Nice car, nice smile. Wears shorts and flip flops I recall. Darn it, that could have been Charlie S.

I just talked with Roger for the first time last month and I liked him too. Very helpful to me and I hear he is handsome (heard the ladies talking, Anniston and Jolie were fighting about him........

I am sad for both Randy and Roger. I hope you both can come to a peaceful understanding.
It is a shame that this incident has happened but
it is even more of a shame that some of the comments add to the injury.
I see both sides, and both have an equal argument.
I hope you both remain friends and that the 928 club remains strong.
