Default Closing the Sun Roof

I had my '84 out today enjoying the changing leaves and the sun through the open sun roof. I got home, parked it and the sun roof wouldn't close. I know there is a manual way to close it. And normally I would open up the manauls and find out how to do it. But I'm getting ready to move and all the manuals are packed (picture the last scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark).

Can someone please tell me how to manually close the sun roof? I have the tool.

Thanks a bunch!

Greg

Greg,
not sure if this appplicable to your year (mine is 1990):
remove cover
remove screw in middle of gearbox.
insert tool (mine screws into hole).
rotate in correct direction.
reverse process. The tightness of the screw forms a sort of clutch in the system - if not tight enough then the motor will not sense enough resistance and will be slow to turn off.

Others will chime in if yours is different.

instead of removing the screw on the transmission just turn the rubber driveshaft this is pretty easy to do .
To remove the motor cover pull down the rear edge of the cover about an inch then find the wire spring , gently push the spring down to free it from the catch on the cover then tilt the cover forward and pull it to the rear of the car
