The tensioner was rebuilt.

I'm going to start pulling thing apart today if I can find my flywheel lock.

I'm still on the fence about what to do :/

I personally do not follow any strict age limit, but that's just me for my car. I inspect and determine what is needed, although you can argue about how you do that with some parts. I've had some bad luck with fixing things until they are broken.

Heinrich, jouw motor lijkt op die van mij. I just put it back together, new rings, rod bearings and reduced CR. Going back in the car soon. Going to install 2 turbo's. I changed the belt of course. Not the Pump.
As far as teh timing belt, I don't live by "what if". Never had a problem with a timing belt. But I inspect it regularly. I typically go way beyond than Porsche's recommendation.

Curtis,

i've got a flywheel lock if you need one, but personally I wouldn't tear into it with a 6 year old belt and very low miles. I'm way past 6 years on my 86 and it looks perfect, but it will be replaced sometime over the winter.

@ Don, thanks I found my flywheel stop! On the TB front, if I had been better at at least starting it up on a monthly basis I would gladly forgo the TB Job. But its has sat untouched for many months with out as much as a look. I pulled the alternator off to rebuild it and its belt has lost it flexibility, I’m afraid the TB has done the same. I'm thinking I'll do belts and hoses should give me the confidence to drive it daily again.
