current spec is going to be dual 2.5" pipes out from the headers into two small magnaflow race cats into a single 3" pipe with a single 18" round resonator with chrome tips....stainless steel all the way through...that's the idea atleast!

OK - Finally had the car up and got some decent pics.

Here's the final, final on what I got installed:

Complete Stainless steel, 3" Y-pipe to Dual hi-flow Cats to Single Exhaust all the way back.
Add magnaflow muffler, resonator and chrome tips.

At first, I went with just the resonator and cats, and to be honest, it was just as loud if not louder than my dual straight pipes with a really bad drone to boot.

Went back and had the shop add the magnaflow, it reduced the sound roughly 25-30% (guesstimating) but cleaned it up by sharpening the tone of the exhaust. Highway drone is extremely reduced and still has plenty of growl. I would still be reluctant to start her up at 6am for work or whatever, but it would be better than before.

If I really wanted to lessen the growl I would have replaced the resonator with another muffler.

Overall the setup is extremely light. (I can hold in one hand)

And yes, the single pipe does give a bit of higher note (NOT like a ferrari, but a lot more than a chevy camaro sound). If I have not dynoed this setup, but my butt says I have more mid range torque or so it feels!

Here's some pics:

Looks good Brad!
I'm guessing they still smog your cars where you are??
87 and older here in Texas now need NO cats.

I'm guessing with your 5.0 hybrid and that exhaust, the car is hauling some serious Arss!!!

No...Ohio doesn't need cats...but CIS cars tend to run a bit rich by there nature and by putting the hi-flow cats on the goal was to reduce that a bit. To that end, I did have some issues with my setup running too rich due to a partially crushed exhaust primary and some failing CIS injectors which have now all been fixed and replaced. This also put a lot less burden on the cats. Ironically, by having them put the cats on it helped uncover those above mentioned issues which I didn't even know were there until you look under the car and wonder why one of your cats is glowing red after two minutes of starting the engine

Yes...with the car being so light, and the reduced weight of the exhaust compared to the previous exhaust, the motor..etc...it does run like a bat out of he|| ... I pass stock s4s with ease... it also helps to have the euro 2.54 gearing.

thanks Chuck for following up!!!
