The picture shows the separate fuses for the high and low beam in addition the feeders are fused with (30amp) LED tell tale fuses located at the PS jump post and DS ABS connector.

Like Alan I do enjoy the 8" H4's with 85 Watts low beam and dual-on 85-100 Wattts low and high beam when needed and yes when that's on all oncoming traffic that has their high's on or some of the standard very bright HID guys are diming their light when the dual 85/100 H4 come to their attention.

I've been using HID's in my 8" H4's and in my driving lights for a little over a year now with great results. The solenoid Hi/Lo in the 8" H4's seems to work very well for me!! Instant Daylight when I want!!

Default 85 US 7" Sealed Beam Upgrade

ok from what I read, I want to upgrade my lame 7" sealed beams.
I do not want to upgrade fuses or relays at this time.

So I guess need a Hella or Bosch 7" glass H4 lens, and new bulbs.
What is the best bulb, and the correct wattage, and voltage?

Does anyone have a good source to buy as a complete kit?

That is a really good price.

Here's a shot of them on low, no high beam shot yet.

That's $300 EACH according to the web page link. So, $600 for the pair. Still, looks like a nice upgrade, especially using less current.

The "Herman" upgrade to pure power for the H4 8" is the way to go so far. They light the sky and the dual high low beam is awesome. On my GTS and fitting a set to Zane's 87 shortly.
We have the kits in stock for $225 - 8" H4's not included.

what is the best bulb for a Hella H4 light, in a stock 85 US?
12v 60/55w?
Don't want any smoke or melting

If these are US stock then they aren't H4's and are just sealed beam 7" DOT headlights.

There is no bulb to change only the whole sealed beam - I think you can only get these in 45W/60W (as stock) - however they are all pretty much crap - and there is nothing you can really do except swap out both for something better.

A major improvement is a 7" Glass H4 eCode lens (Hella/Bosch/Cibie) and H4 bulb - an easy swap and likely about $60 each - sometimes some deals

With those you have more bulb power options but I'd start with stock 60/55W or 70/65w.

We have the correct 7" Hella (off road use only) H4 for $39.95 each including bulb.
Upgrade the bulb to the better 80w/100w for an extra $11 each.
Best bang for the $ unless you have 8"
