Sharks in a Kettle
I ran a DE this last weekend at RA and as usual was the only 928 on site. Until a sinister looking black one showed up to visit and watch. Being the quiet type I immediately walked over and introduced myself to this strangely familiar looking car and driver. It took about a minute to meet Eric and find out he's really Hacker from Green Bay and he brought out his track car that had been sleeping until recently.
He also let me know another 928 was coming. It turned out to be Todd and his magnificently engineered twin turbo. Meeting these two guys reaffirms why I bought a shark.
The best part was running on RA. With the udpates and stuff this year, including an X-pipe, catless RMB exhaust I gained 15 mph on the straight for a top end at over 125 mph on the back straight. Then I got to use the big brakes. These cars are so balanced when you get them set up right.
I'm still lunch meat for the ACR Vipers and newer Vettes, 911's and Shelby's. I was definitely impressed with a new ZR-1 that passed me on the front straight like I was standing still and I was going 110 at the time.
Next year's plans are to add lightness and optimize the fuel system. Then a supercharger system, then...this list never ends.
Again, thanks to Eric and Todd for the 928 camraderie and support.
Maybe it's time to put together a Midwest meeting of Sharks.
Sharks in a Kettle has a nice ring...

interesting choice of words, good luck with the car's diet.
I need to add about 55 pounds of "lightness" to my drivers seat. it isn't working so far....
