Digital cluster pictures wanted / passenger airbag optional?
Hi all,
I am looking for information and pictures of the digital instrument cluster (for my 1990 GT shell project) that has dual scales with the Km/h (metric scale) being the dominant one. Does anyone know if the Canada cars had this or if it was an option? Secondly, if anyone has a spare (hehe, yeah I thought I would ask anyway) that they are willing to sell, let me know.
Secondly, does anyone know if the passenger airbag was an option for the ROW cars? I have seen one GTS in Australia posted here with the "old dash" and only driver's side airbag. Unfortunately I can't remember who the car belongs to. Maybe someone can shed some light on it?
Cheers!
Carl

The Cdn dash has the analog display in km, celcuis, and liters. The digital dash is only KM and l/100km. No toggling between US and Metric. This is the only pic I have of the dash..

Tom:
Thanks for the picture, I appreciate it. I read somewhere that the '90 and later dashes can toggle the digital between metric and imperial, but have yet to see a dual scale analog with metric as primary...which is of course what I want
Tony,
Thanks for the link to my shell project I guess it is time to update that one of these days
Btw, can you toggle the digital readouts on your GTS to metric?
Cheers!

In LHD countries, passenger airbag was an option - and pretty much standard by around 1992.
If you're asking because you want to know whether digital clusters from late years do or don't have the airbag light facility in them, I can confirm that the digital clusters are interchangeable from 1990 onwards and all have the airbag illumination spot, even RHD cars where it wasn't available (I have a spare aussie 90 GT cluster).
Be aware that only the US market clusters allow you to change the units - even other countries where it was law to have both mph and kph scales on the speedo dial do not allow you to change units on the dash for the digital readouts (e.g. the UK).

And that is precisely way I changed mine out.

Hilton, Tony, Brent and Phil,
Thanks all for the information. Looks like a new digital cluster may be in the future...
I prefer not to put the "analog" cluster in there, of which I have two ('80 and 86.5) sitting on the shelf.
Cheers!
