Could you post the part number? There are three variants, IIRC, ending with part numbers .01 .03 and .04. Thanks

Crap, it is in storage so not very easy to do. If it makes a difference I can do that.

But it comes from a late 1991 GT that was a company car at Porsche. I was the second private owner.

Out of curiosity, what are the differences on the three part numbers?

I moved to other cars, but at the moment I don't own any car at all.

Did a few seasons in endurance racing which was great.

Another Porsche or similar is in the horizon but not for another year or so.

It's highly probably to be a 01 or 04, so don't go digging in storage for me as I'm looking for a 03. My 90GT came with 01 and I think the 91 came with 04. I've read about them here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...s-and-rmb.html

Dave C believes there's less material in the 03, resulting in louder sound. I seem to recall seeing a picture of a 03, which appears to possibly have a shorter case/chamber which could also contribute to a slightly louder volume.

What brings this all up is I had a stock system with the exception of RMB, and recently went to a X-pipe w/o cats and put my factory muffler back on. To my surprise, the cat-less X with muffler is quieter than than the RMB and factory cat combo, at least in my particular application. Too quiet, IMHO. I'm hoping for a happy medium, as most say the X and RMB combo is too loud (I'd try that but I sold my RMB before installing the X). I'm hoping a switch to the .03 GT muffler might be the perfect fit for my taste. Unfortunately, they seem to be quite rare and I haven't run across one yet.

A quick look showed that 04 seems to be the only one listed for 1991 according to this document:

http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf...91_KATALOG.pdf

That is for USA/Canada though, and who knows what parts are put on a werkswagen. It was not a run of the mill GT..
