12,000 mile 79' 5spd **SOLD**
This car has a very sad story behind it. It was driven briefly and then stored for a very long time. It finally saw the light of day about 3-4 years ago and showed up at the Wilbraham tech session. It had a minor storage related fuel issue that we cleared up during the event. At that point, the car showed as brand new and was really amazing to see. Pleased with the new found performance, the exuberant owner was having a little too much fun with it and ran it down an embankment, crunching the nose.
Based on a phone call from a friend attending the insurance auction, I recognized the car and bought it sight unseen. Fortunately someone had sealed the car very well and the incredible interior was unharmed. The windshield was broken but still in place. I put the car on a frame machine and pulled the nose enough to facilitate removing the engine. The car has been in dry storage at my place for two or three years now and I have decided to trim my 928 fleet down to three cars. As much as I like it, I really don't think I will get around to rebuilding this car.
The price is $ 4,000.00 and I have a rebuildable title with insurance paperwork.
The bad:
Someone removed the fuse/relay panel
Ditto for rear wiper motor
Oil pan was hit and needs to be replaced
The body is savable, but I would question the cost/benefit of doing so.
The good:
A complete drive line with 12,000 miles that has been sorted and driven within the last few years.
I huge pile of almost NOS parts.
The very near perfect pasha interior
The price is for the complete car. If I need to put the time and labor into parting the car, the price will go up. If someone wants the interior only, the cheapest way to get it would be to take the whole car. Here are some pictures showing the fine points and also the carnage.

inspect the alternator attach points,
based on the picture the block/girdle may be damaged and require welding to restore the alt attach points

Sure would look great in that green car
Yes,if you take into account the number of parts that make up a complete interior, and that these are pretty much brand new, its a steal. No warped panels, no cracks and no sun damage.
If someone does not buy the entire car, I will probably take it apart, keep the parts as spares and scrap the shell. I would rather see the interior be used and enjoyed than put back into storage where I have to protect it from damage. I have the car full of dryer sheets and sitting in a ring of mousetraps.
Agreed. The altenator itself snapped at the mounting boss so I am hopefull the block is OK. I had the car hanging from a forlift to take the picture so I didn't want to get under there and play around. If anyone is seriously pursuing the car I would be happy to yank the alt. and get pictures.

I have had some interest in exposing the alternator mount so I am going to do that and see what we have. I agree that it does impact the car's value so it is worth doing. Hopefully tonight.

If anyone wants to see the car in person or maybe send a rep to check it out, we are having a 928 pizza and bull***t session on saturday the 22nd. You are welcome to stop by and take pics or make offers.

I should add that I have the original phone dials, all in good shape. Also the hood, not in good shape. The windshield molding is removed but accounted for.

I have coveted this car each time I have seen it tucked away in your barn - not that I would know what to do with it. Yes, it is sad to see it in it's current state, but it is still beautiful nonetheless. I hope it survives in one piece. GLWTS.
