Default No Y connector at carbon canister

I had a slight gasoline smell in the cabin of my GTS, so I went to check the Y connector in the right fender. I discovered I don't have one! Instead of two hoses coming from the carbon cannister, as shown in the PET, there are three, all leading into the engine compartment.

Did Porsche built some models like this, or is this an aftermarket modification?

Thanks,
Tom D.

Not aftermarket for a GTS, mine is the same on my '93. Here's a connection diagram I made to understand it when I was having problems with a collapsing gas tank. (Related pictures in this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/7744322-post28.html

FWIW, Tony posted about a 'gas smell' earlier tonight, another thing to check is the plastic cover over the fuel level sender, and (I would assume) the fuel level sender gasket or tank vent hose

Tom,

I took the fender liner off on my '94 about 6 months after I bought it ('06), in order to install the stainless "Y". Quite surprised as well to find there is NO "Y" connector here on the '94's as well.

Interesting. PET even shows a Y connector for GTSs - but it's not the first error I've seen in it.

Thanks for the diagram and suggestions, Rob. My next question was going to be where to look for the gas smell.
