October 15-16 weekend cruise & GTG at 928 Specialists!
Many will recall a thread around SITM 2011 for a North Carolina 928 owners monthly get-together (GTG)...
While the actual meeting place(s) & date(s) have been tried and discussions of either a centralized location vs. a rotating location -due to the sheer width of the state- have taken place... we have an opportunity to incorporate many other 928 owners in the border states of Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia!
Situated between the wind-down from 928 Frenzy, Sharks at Daytona & Sharktoberfest and the ramp up to 3rd Coast, Dave & Jeannie Roberts of 928 Specialists fame have graciously volunteered to host a localized get-together for anyone wanting to attend. The weekend of October 15 & 16 promises to have wonderful cruising weather (highs in the mid-upper 60's and lows in the mid 40's); the excellent twisty mountain roads; changing of the leaves (fall coloration galore); great 928 camaraderie & parts deals one can only imagine (DR will chime in soon with some thoughts)!
So, those 928'ers in North Carolina, South Carolina, western Virginia, eastern Tennessee, and northern Georgia (or further) that want to hangout and socialize -it looks to be a fun, low-key gathering of 928-minded folks!
Hope to see y'all there!
P.S.>> if you have already provided your contact info to Jon B. (928OC NC rep) or myself, you have already received a PM through RennList or an email from me directly. I will be placing phone calls to those that preferred that contact route instead.

Hi Barry,
This sounds like the Fall Mountain Drives (aka "Thunder in the Mountains") that Chris Lockhart did here back in 01, 02...WHAT A BLAST that was!! Hey, I just realized it will basically be the 10 year anniversary of the first one in 2001...weird!!!
We look forward to seeing a bunch of 928s here in the Fall like back then. OH, be sure one of us contacts Chris to make sure he knows about it, I am sure if he can swing it he will come up.
BTW, my personal thanks for setting this up..it will be a nice way to begin the Fall Cooler Season for me...just what the Doctor ordered! I love the rumble of multiple 928s in the crisp cool fall mountain air!!
Crap I forgot...this means I have to clean up the grill...dang it!! Ha, Ha J/K!!
Cheers,
Dave

Can't believe I missed this thread. I have been slacking! Dave, thanks for allowing us to come and hang out! Big thanks also to Barry, he has taken this under his wing completely.

Darn it Jim. You know, both your fine press cars need parts... no better place to find that needle in a haystack like DR's place!
Even if it snows early in Michigan -your car is inside...
Hope you're doing well & will miss not seeing you if you can't make it!

You are welcome, as I said before we look forward to it! OH, tell the guys/gals they are all welcome to crash here Saturday night if they like and to be sure to bring some sleeping bags just in case. We have plenty of beds/couches/floor space for everyone....one warning though...people on the floor(and sometimes couches, right Katie? :-) are subject to being woke up with Thor "Kissies"..LOL
Speaking of that, we are VERY pet friendly, so all 4 legged friends are more than welcome too! We have around 10 acres of private wooded and SAFE places for them to play and romp around...without worries of roads or passing cars.
Cheers,
Dave

Dave, we have two Shepherd's as well, so we are WELL aware of the possible kisses that may await us if we stay. Don't think we would be able to bring one however, not too much room for our three (GSD's + Doberman) in a 928!

Can't make it on this weekend but it will be incredible! Color change is just creeping into our area (I'm right downhill from MM1 on the BRP) and by then it should be just beautiful. To all that can, have fun!

I will be there. Dave / Jeannie looking forward to seeing you this weekend. Thanks for helping me get my beauty on the road, and for the time and effort at SITM. Going to be a great weekend for a cookout and for a bonfire at night, roasting people or marshmellows, and just enjoy the roar of the 928's.

Damn... if only my TT was in proper order... And if my kids weren't in school, and my wife were in town, and I didn't have to work on Friday... I'd be there.
Next time.
