Hi Andrew,

Dang..I had already dragged out a nice 5-Speed TT from my private collection to have ready for you to pickup. :-(

BTW, in all seriousness, if you do need it I can meet you "halfway" next weekend...maybe somewhere near Lexington, KY. :-)

Cheers,

Dave

When are the folks from the Charlotte Area heading up? Should we meet up and cruise together?

So tempting... But I think I'll take my time on this one. I may still meet you halfway. Wife's out of the country until the end of the month, so I'll need to con the kids into coming.

How about a good address so we can get some logistics going? I know I've got a good drive to do. My car will be getting a good two weeks of work aside from DD duty. The local PCA group is doing a wine tour in southern Virginia the weekend after. Gonna be adding the miles!

Here are a Few Suggested routes for some fun driving and GREAT Scenery on the way to our area....

For those coming from East or South of Hickory, NC...

Version 1 - Long
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Ex...3,4,5&t=m&z=10

Version 2 - Not as long...but 181 North up from Morganton is kick butt! (Also great for those coming up from south of Morganton)
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Ex...1,2,3&t=m&z=11

For those coming from other directions just let me know where you are coming from...and if you want a more "nice scenic" route, or one of my famous "make your shoulders scream in pain" routes (recommended for fresh brake fluid only :-)

Woo, four and a half hours from my house! Not too shabby. When is everyone planning on being there. Or more importantly, Dave, when is to early? Because I'm probably gonna leave while the sun is still down.

Yep, looks like it will be a nice weekend. I've been checking the weather daily.

Barry, when are y'all heading up? Also, how many people have gotten back to you from email, etc? Looking for an estimate of cars.

Jon, since it was an open invite, I have only received a few confirmations.

There is an event the same weekend down in Spartanburg, SC -the EuroFest, held at the BMW plant. Their focus this year is the MG & Sprite models. Not usually known for 928's -but popular for the Porsche crowd (PCA) none the less. We may see some traffic from there, since it is almost a direct shot.

For a coordinated drive up... I guess it may depend on when you're leaving. Fayetteville is about 2 hours from my house at the posted speed limits. With my tranny issues, I'll be keeping things calm & collected in the back of the pack.

I am leaving early so I can enjoy the scenic trip and take some pictures of the mountains, and of course the 928 in the background. Going to be a nice weekend, relaxing and enjoying fellow 928'rs, and enjoying the natural beauty of the mountains.
