Urathane will pretty much glue anything to anything when sets so, make sure to clena up everything as soon as possible. Wear glover or you'll have plack fingers for a week.

So,

- Painters tape on either side of the groove.
- Wet Popsicle stick to apply Urethane.
- Latex gloves to avoid the dreaded plack fingers (who wants plack fingers? )
- Remove tape before Urethane dries.
- Enjoy having dry passengers and pants that don't look like I pee'd myself.

Edit - I forgot something...

What about this area? It seems there is a huge gap here - fill this in also?

Oh....and the clear tape I put on originally came off no problem - didn't leave any glue or anything.

Just to confirm, is this the recommended stuff (3M Urethane Windshield adhesive)? Here are 3 from 3M:

I am assuming any of these are going to do it?? Thoughts welcome

My windshield has also been dodging the blame and am looking forward to fix this finally.

Any brand of urathane windshield adhesive will do, doesn't have to be 3m.

Thanks Imre!

Seems like removing the trim is the right way to do this to gain access to the faulty seal to get some urethane any failed areas.

I found this link from a thread on windshield R&R that might help others with a few tips: http://www.kondratyev.com/porsche/te...windshield.htm

Here's a post on a trim removal method: https://rennlist.com/forums/3370902-post8.html

Excellent links!

I took the trim off of one of the rear side windows just to see how hard it was.

Very easy to get off.

Getting it back in place was another story.
